Camping Cheques where possible. ( both offer off peak site discounts)

Total Mileage 1702 -- (plus 692 miles touring from campsites ie 2394 miles grand total)

Starting at Petit Appeville on the picturesque Alabaster Coast just south of Dieppe - worth exploring if the weather is right, unfortunately this year it wasn't.

on the Picturesque Alabaster Coast this is a view towards Dieppe taken from nearby Pourville sur Mer in 2009 when we were blessed with a week of glorious weather

Camping des bords de l'Eure , Chartres (ACSI)

A short walk along the river to the historic city of Chartres and only a hour by car to the Chateau of Versailles

This photo of the fountains was taken in the main square facing the impressive media centre Médiathèque l'Apostrophe

A riverside campsite on the Loire opposite the town and within easy reach of several Chateaux does not accept ACSI or CC but it's only 9 Euro per night!!

Beaulieu sur Dordogne (ACSI)

Set on an island a short walk from the pretty old town of Beaulieu and a short drive to several villages listed as 'Plus Beaux Villages de France'

The old town is illuminated at night and on Saturday there was a riverside country market followed by music and dancing

St Antonin Noble Val

A riverside site in the Gorge d l'Aveyron within walking distance to the town with an impresive Sunday market. Our friend has a holiday retreat in nearby Verfeil -for more information see details in links

St Paul de Fenouillet

This campsite is on our favourite route from Foix to Perpignan and is close to the Gorge de Galamus and Chateaux at Perypertuse and Queribus. This picture is of the nearby hillside church at Camps sur l'Agly where neighbour's daughter and husband live in the Presbytery attached.

Palau del Vidre (CC)

A short drive to Collioure and only 1 Euro by bus to Perpignan

Les Pradeaux, Chateau de Grange Fort (ACSI)

Close to the northern end of the A75

a beautiful campsite in a chateau with far reaching views across the winding river Allier, the A75 and the mountains of the Massif Central beyond

Camping des Alouettes, Cognac la Foret Nr. Limoges (ACSI)

An excellent campsite for visiting the Martyr Village of Oradour sur Glane

Camping des bords de l'Eure , Chartres(ACSI)

back to the site at Chartres they accept ACSI cards now that it's out of season

Igoville near St Adrien

because of the difficulty accessing the campsite and the weather we decided to head straight for the ferry and home.

St Adrien with its White Cliffs is just south of Rouen and a good stop for a short break and a cup of tea

St Adrien

a convenient stopping place in a car park situated between the cliffs and the river

Saint Adrien Chapelle is built into the chalk cliff face, this shot was taken at St Adrien on a previous tour
